Spex Seating | Rolleston

The SPEX cushion is designed for wheelchair users who have moderate to severe positioning and pressure needs.

It is a well-established choice among professionals due to its ability to easily adjust for both symmetrical and asymmetrical sitting postures. The Spex cushion utilizes advanced technology to properly and effectively position and level the pelvis, using a strategic placement system within the adjustable base cell. On the spot adjustments can be easily made using the included build up kit , meaning it is maintenance free and incredibly versatile. The construction of the cushion enables a wide distribution of pressure, resulting in low peak pressures.

Common on the spot adjustments for individual pelvic needs include;

  • Pelvic obliquity
  • Tight hamstrings
  • Posterior pelvic tilt
  • Anterior pelvic tilt
  • Limited hip flexion (one side or both)
  • Extensor thrust
  • Pelvic rotation
  • And much more!

 The cushion comes with a washable Spacer fabric cover and an incontinence cover, providing maximum comfort and convenience.

An excellent choice for individuals who:

  • Have changing postural needs over time.
  • Have a symmetrical or asymmetrical sitting posture that requires correction or control.
  • Require pelvic comfort and pressure relief/distribution.
  • Require a high degree of pelvic stability and specific contouring.
  • Have tight hamstrings/lack of hip flexion.
